May 01, 2023Ipswich Public Health Department to Offer Preventative Dental Care Program
June 1, 2023 by Camryn Langille
IPSWICH — Public Health Director Colleen Fermon would like to announce that the Ipswich Public Health Department will bring back the preventative dental care program, Polished, for residents.
The program will be held on Tuesday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Town Hall, Room C, 25 Green St. Dental screenings, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride will be available for residents of all ages, by appointment only.
Residents can schedule an appointment by calling or texting Polished Founder Ellen Gould, RDH, at 508-237-5378 or by e-mail at [email protected].
The Ipswich Public Health Department would like to remind residents about the importance of good oral health and hygiene. Good oral health can help control and/or lessen the risk associated with heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy, and other conditions. It can also improve self-esteem because healthy teeth and gums are important to how people feel about themselves.
The preventative dental care program has not been run since 2019, due to the pandemic.
"After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, we are happy to be able to bring back Polished this year," said Director Fermon. "Keeping good oral hygiene is significant in contributing to a positive sense of self, and overall healthy body."
